My dad did the same thing, started as a Marine in early years of Nam and then ended up becoming Green Beret. Sad though after Q course and earning his beret his wife left him and was upset so he requested back to Nam and only thing they could give him was a shitty posting with an infantry platoon at firebase Mary Ann and was there when it got overrun. RIP dad “I’ll see you at sundown”.

What Buds class did he graduate? I went to boot camp in Great Lakes class #406 in 1999. My cousin went through Buds in 2000, Jump school sniper school, etc… he was stationed out in Honolulu STV. He’s American Indian Montana boy. Petty officer Bell or Sievers, Did you know him?

Get some LRRPs on as well. They were by far the most experienced and active teams operating in Vietnam, I think they deserve a bit more recognition!
